Math Goals

Last week, in Te Ngahere we had to choose three maths goals from the math IKAN sheet. that we needed to learn,  ( WALT: Identify what we have achieved in maths and our next learning steps. ) We had to add these to our term 3 learning goals, we then made our goals red and if our goals were checked and if they were green we got to create a google drawing. On this google drawing we put our chosen math goals, for my maths goals I had to add an equation for subtraction, division and multiplication. Finally we got to decorate our google drawing however we would like, ( it had to have school related things though).

Here are my maths goals.

Koru And Kowhaiwhai

Last term Te Ngahere and Te Maunga created Koru and Kowhaiwhai patterns. We were learning to draw Koru and Kowhaiwhai patterns. We started on paper and used crayon to make a Koru pattern. After you had drew a Koru pattern with crayon, you got to get a piece of paper and with a pencil on your paper you had to draw Koru and Kowhaiwhai patterns. After that you got a smaller paper and you had to lightly draw your family Koru and Kowhaiwhai version. After this you showed the teacher and she would allow you to paint it, we waited overnight for the paint to dry then outlined it all with vivad. Here is my art!!!

Student Led Conferences

On Wednesday Te Ngahere ( my class, ) had SLC (  Student Led Conferences. )  We had to create a google drawing and link evidence to our reading, writing, maths, inquiry and art. We linked these so that we could show our parents what we have been doing and learning. I  liked this because us ( the students ) actually got to present our learning to our parents. I am pretty sure my mum enjoyed this aswell because we got to talk to each other about my learning.

Here is the drawing I presented to my mum.

Maromaku

Last week on Friday we had Maromaku. Some kids from Paihia School attended this fun event and played either rugby or netball to represent our school. I attended this event and played rugby. Some people bought money because there was a sausage sizzle and many other yummy foods that you could buy. This was a very fun and action packed event.

Last week on Tuesday Paihia School walked to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.  We walked to the Treaty Grounds because Matariki was coming up. We played some very fun games made some cool Manu Aute and even planted some plants. During one of the games you had to have a rope and one of the helpers would say Maui ( right, ) Matau ( left ) and Ki waenganui ( middle, ) and that’s where you had to jump, (that was my favorite activity.) I had heaps of fun!!!

Fidget Spinner Art

Last week we made some really cool Fidget Spinner art. We got to design what it looked like, we used A3 paper to draw our Fidget Spinners and had to use all the space.  Te Maunga had also come into our class to design their own Fidgets Spinners as well.  After we drew our Fidget Spinner with pencil we got to color with crayon and then dye it. We then let them dry and we were done. It was so much fun!!!

On Friday ( week 7, ) Te Ngahere got to make Ice Cream!!! The teachers of Te Ngahere said that if all the students finished their learning plans they could make Ice cream, and we all finished. Before we made Ice cream we read two stories and answered questions. We had to have buddies, my buddy was Cheyenne. Ater we were done mixing everything Brodi and Alexis ( they were the helpers, ) took the Ice cream into the freezer to freeze. We had to wait a little while but then we got to eat our yummy class made Ice Cream ( it was delicious. )  Making Ice Cream was SO cool!!!
